GreenDrop Opens Donation Center to Springfield Residents

GreenDrop has opened a donation center in Fairfax County. The company will be accepting donations at the Saratoga Shopping Center in Springfield.

The new donation site will offer a safe, convenient, and effective way to declutter their homes and donate gently used items. Donations, in turn, provide critical funding for recognized, national charity partners: The American Red Cross, Military Order of the Purple Heart and National Federation of the Blind.

Springfield residents can simply pull up to the mobile GreenDrop unit and have their gently used items collected by a uniformed attendant. Attendants will give each donor the opportunity to choose the charity partner they’d like to support and provide a tax-deductible receipt for their records. Donations are then converted into critical dollars to fund charity partners’ programs and initiatives.

GreenDrop has raised $3 million dollars per year for its partner charities with more than 100 tons of donated clothing and lightly used household products recycled, reused, and repurposed each week through its locations in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Virginia, Maryland, and New York.
