Fifth graders at Mantua Elementary School in Fairfax gathered outside recently to plant a large redbud tree on the school grounds with foresters from Dominion Energy. The students were enrolled in Project Plant It!, an environmental education program created by Dominion Energy to teach children about the role of trees in the ecosystem and to give them a free redbud tree seedling of their own. Since 2007, Dominion Energy has distributed 500,000 tree seedlings to participating students in areas served by the company.
