Paul Guida, 68, of Falls Church died while in custody at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center.

Paul Guida died Oct. 17, 2015, while in custody at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center. The 68-year-old Falls Church resident was charged with violating a protective order. He had been held without bond since Oct. 1, 2015.

Guida was in the jail’s infirmary and was found to be non-responsive late that evening. After an autopsy two days later, the Medical Examiner said he died of natural causes.

Major Crimes detectives investigated the incident and turned over their files and evidence analysis to the Fairfax County Commonwealth’s Attorney’s office on Jan. 29, 2016, a Police Department release said.

Commonwealth’s Attorney Raymond F. Morrogh will review the information to decide whether there is any criminal liability.

Morrogh said, “There isn’t an overwhelming amount of material,” in an email. He hopes to complete his review within several weeks.
