George Mason Student Wins National Pageant Title

>At 20 years old, Kira Omans is the youngest contestant and the first Chinese adoptee to win the Pacific Miss Asian American pageant.

Kira Emily Omans is the first adoptee to win the national title of Pacific Miss Asian American. Kira was adopted from Zhongshan, China when she was ten months old. Her multicultural family – Caucasian parents, Korean-adoptee brother, and Caucasian sister – has inspired her to be a cultural advocate. As this year’s titleholder, she is a spokesperson and representative for Pacific Culture International (PCI).

After reaching out to her adoption agency, Children’s Hope International, Omans has been a source for hopeful parents about international adoption. She has connected with other adoptees around the country, and she has been invited to speak at conferences in Washington D.C.

Omans shares her Chinese culture as a dancer with the Fairfax Chinese Dance Troupe. She has performed at showcases at the Kennedy Center, Smithsonian, National Theater and Wolf Trap, among others.

She also teaches acting (Acting for Young People), self-defense (Remarck Sport Taekwondo), and folk dance (Wei Hwa Chinese School).

Omans is a Theater and Communication student at George Mason University.

Pacific Culture International is dedicated to promoting international cultural awareness. The Pacific Miss Asian American pageant provides a platform for young women to display confidence, intelligence, and talent as future leaders in our society. The president of PCI, Chris Zhu, described Omans as “...true diamond. Her poise, leadership, talent, intelligence, and beauty truly amazes everyone who knows her. PCI is so proud to have her in our family!”
